Welcome to vom Sudlichen Wald Deutsch Drahthaars. The German name Sudlichen Wald means Southern Forest. We are members of the VDD/GNA Great Plains Chapter and a registered VDD kennel in Wyoming. Here in Wyoming with the Deutsch Drahthaars we hunt mostly Ducks, Geese, Pheasants, Chuckar’s, Huns, Blue Grouse, Sage Grouse, Ruff Grouse, Doves and Rabbits with the dogs. When hunting season opens here all the Drahthaar owners kick it into full gear and hope they can get out every chance they get. The weather here is truly 4 seasons at once. It can be in the 60 to 70 range and in 10 minutes we can have 0 degrees with a white out. No matter what the weather is these dogs are ready to go. It is amazing watching these dogs work and something I never get tired of. They are truly an amazing hunting breed that can adapt to any condition and change hunting styles when needed.
